Body tired of it all
Back bent
Broken
Knees quiver
Beneath untold weight
Eyes weary
Hands leathery and hard
Dirt permanent
Under my nails
Mouth dried and cracked
My feet swollen
Soar

I see them
The young guys
All spit and fire
Workin the hours and some
Pity them
Know their fate
Same as mine
My 50 year old pain
Will be teirs

Now I live for my brush
Time rolls by
The need is urgent

I feel right along side ya on the wheel Artguy.

For me it's the Blue Note, Empire State Building, Jazz standard radio stations, Otis, CARNEGIE!

"Shout it from the rooftops man"

I really dug this.

some days i am ancient, tired,
ready for it to end.
others, the sun wakes me up
to endless possibilities.

i enjoyed your poem, kurt.
i feel what you wrote all the time.

my body tattoos
kibbutz
i engrave my eyes
on every grain of dust
my brain craves all-time
all input
all silence
all

young kids think they know
i know i thought i knew
now i know how little i can know

spitfire catwalking life-seekers
make the world go round
while hourglass sliders let it flow
