Horizons like a full-bloom bird of paradise exotic fly along the line.
A garden-tender sickles through the flowers tickled: cut they die along the line.

Rise up, o saints of God, and listen to the word the prophets cry and take your cross.
An army of the saints of God invades and who will prophesy along the line?

A million olive plastic soldiers all around the world—we buy our kids their death.
Our witch hunts, civil wars, jihads, crusades—the sweetest by and by along the line.

I told a truth and not the other: freedom and the facts decry each other’s farce.
When innocent till otherwise convicted, what would you deny along the line?

Commitment and fidelity you promise me and therefore I don’t fear to move.
A fingertip’s to follow – there to meet the vector paths you cry – along the line.

Alone you’ve sewn my wardrobe, ironed shirtsleeves, bought and tied each tie—
and washed it all.
Two fingertips to help unclip and fold those clothes that now are dry along the line.

My money for the flowerpot; the off’ring plate is wasted wryly on the poor.
For people disenfranchised on the dole and hungry, what’s a sigh along the line?

Once I settled down and really read this, it takes a conscious read, I was incredibly glad I did.
