...
I read
feed in great gulps on the fresh air of your tears
or laughter shaped like watermelons - tasting of beer
I feel within each sentence shaded semblances
of constancy and sometime fear
I read
while the silence shouts out deafening
hides the outside eyes now looking in
remember, always know
that what you write was made to see
and there is purpose in the scribbling
I read
contemplate
and every now and then, a word, a phrase
a reckoning
will draw out from my fingertips
a need to speak
give utterance to what I know is real
within a world that often reeks of fakes
of platitudes
I read
here's hoping you
will read me too
and feel the gratitude in these few words displayed
I read

i read
sometimes your words make ping pong rings
sometimes they penetrate, blend into my bloodstream
feed me and come out in smiles
i read, and i thank you, too

Thank you.
I just want all you all to know you're appreciated.
There's some great work on this site
it is being recognized and
ENCOURAGED even if sometimes
silently.
That's what this poem is for...
a word bouquet of gratitude. I'm glad it wasn't stinky!

i like the fact that all i have to do is respond in order to sneak into the 'creative' talent list.
It's democratic and generously complimentary.
Mousey - you raise spirit like a good glass of merlot!

beautiful bouquet and no, not stinky...except...
i agree with judih about the merlot...
and cheese (as i'm sure no mouse needs told) goes well with merlot...
and the best cheeses i have found stink to high heaven.
may your wine continue to put forth a great bouquet
and may your wonderful cheese stink with the prutrescence of the best taste!
For cosmic elements industrious
as light— reflected light ubiquitous
that simple thoughts, recycled constantly
by words humanely shared, might illustrate
some notion valued more for honesty
and less for mere originality—
I write alone that I might read the shared
experiences of a word that dared
respond— all penchant for banality
aside, what else is there for majesty
but discourse souls to swift exacerbate
a prayer?— Light again and patiently
forgive all gibberish obsequious
with grace of dialog illustrious.

Merlot!
with an after chaser of
good cheer to man and mouse alike!
makes my juices flow.
and, um, yeah, nice try, judih
you slipped under the creative talent list by default...
in a pig's eye you did! And that pig would be I.
Here's looking at you
kid.

Ah, "prutrescence"
watchword of a mouse's ways
we scramble and we scutter and we snoot it out each day
to prutrescence
long may it rain.
I thank you, joel
your words so beautifully put as always.
And while I know
that deepest down
we all place our words mostly for our own intents and purposes
and pleasure
it's grand to feed an ego now and then
and to be fed
and so
feed and fed
we ate the cheese
and washed it down with french merlot
and now we go
gently refreshed...
to read some mo'

good to see you mousey
the spirit of light and wonderful
I have feelers that reach through cyberspace
and I feel that your spirit is light and wonderful
reflection is rare and you accomplish it
you ponder the cheese before you partake
I'm sure you are wary of the trap, but you consider
and if it snaps you are well out of the way
I rescued a mouse the other night
our cat was toying with it
the mouse seemed grateful
Inhale light
Exhale wonderful

Mmmmm
This is a juicy thread.
Mousey, your words have a nice swing to them, they made me feel good and lucky to be a part of this place
The way we all waft in and out, like butterflies, leaving imprints on each other is truly unusual and delicious.
I so agree with you about the powerful talent here, and I want you to know from me that you are a big part of that.
Enjoying this whole thread muchly.
