it's a true story
grandmother Truth
an old west babe
hated when i refused duty in the air farce
and had my personality regression
came into her world again bearded
studying art
insulted me with venomous words
like
you don't wanna know
i yam beyond cursing her now
let it go in creative complaints
and so
well
she inspired a poem-line

propelled me into Über Mon

zippy is a revelation
sorta like a soul with split personality disorder
dissociative personality traits
at peace with hisselves

eye movements side to side
pause and reflect
mercy on the battlefield
where is rumsfeld when we need him :?:
name that tune
where's my piss secretary :!:
don't forget armistice day
not over nothing
still pissed

Did Zippy enlist during 'Nam, or was he drafted?
Maybe he burned his draft notice and headed up
Canadian rockies way-- Zippy mit Hippies!
We here at TotenkopfCo have little sympathy
for any man or woman who enlisted (same for present War Drama). Dudes who were drafted (like numerous cuz)
and saw real action have
every right to complain, and may Osiris bless 'em.
But that's not to say that maybe Canada
was not the right choice.

At the same time as Nam however
Mao was liquidating the chinese countryside.
There are plenty of other villains in the world other than the US.
Nixon's probably in Hades--not far from LBJ and JFK (who started Nam). Kissinger will join 'em.

But they got nicer pads than do the real Heroes such as Stalin Mao Hitler, etc. , who live on dirty street............

How true... the US is but a small fraction of the world's population, and it has a God-sent mission, a good one, though a little impatient lately, and that may cost 'em. Another wasted opportunity.

We here at TotenkopfCo have little sympathy

welll some folks get sucked in
and spit themselves out
or are spat out or spat at
it's all sucking and spitting

how some can grow and change
\and others
bones dry out on the range
rangy and mangy
food for vultures

i had to make peace with a woman in my group\debbrahhh
shhe's a retired major
she guided the warplanes to reconnect with thhe tankers
in the vietnam war
what i refused to do
fly the tankers to reconnect wit th warplanez
and so i told her
as she wore her bottlecap fatigue top
and handed out lil old merikin phlaggz
in a iraq war protest

she has changed
and is an avid anti-war protestor

so we belong in diversity
some sit on our asses
whilst others are brought to our knees
but we all get up again
and walk on
an there's no diff tween an enlistee
and a draftee
not realllyeee
to heed the calllll
fer gawd an countreee
Sometimes it seems like only yesterday I was eating canned turkey in front of my radar scope, bringing our boys back to base in battle-damaged fighters, hooking them up for gas mid-air along the way and hearing the relief in their voices as soon as they heard the only woman on the air - when they heard that they knew they were soon to be out of enemy skies.

For every safe landing we were thankful. For every letter from "The World" we were even more thankful. For every set of orders back home we were so thankful it was hard not to cry - even when they were for someone else.

Home never looks so sweet until you can't get there. Thank you for all you are doing to bring our troops back home where they belong!

Thanks, Brother Mike, for taking the lead on this!

I believe this rally is a high priority for VFP as it meets all of the criteria mentioned by Dwight.

The Repubs are warmongers, plain and simple. ChaChing, chaChing. Hello Halliburton! Hugs and kisses to Chevron!

And let's not forget the devastating effects of "No Child Left Behind" - another product of the party of the War President. Thanks to them our kids are being preyed upon every day by bonus-hungry commissioned salespeople in military uniform as a condition of this nasty policy.

The GOP candidates are all about what VFP stands against. Watch this: http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08 ... nnSTCVideo. If that doesn't scare you, I don't know what will.

I said it in 2000 and I said it in 2004 - VFP's highest priority should be to keep the GOP out office.

Never has there been a greater threat to peace than the terrorists in the White House today. Their legacy is waiting for us in St Pete Nov. 28.

Debra Hedding

i mean she pisses me off
she has a magnificent retirement income
is a hot 45
but hey she is hanging with code pink
it's a blank slate
moment to moment

Difference there be
between being ordered
to load up the Napalm vat--
at point of a gat---
and doing it willingly, with
a yankee doodle smile.

So Spaketh Zippythustra.

yes that is true
doing napalm with a smile

i saw a fellow at bienhoa
he was flying A-37's
napalm birds
we went to Michigan together
air farce rotc
rot-cee
he was standing on the tarmac
non-plussed
said "hi"

i also had a co-pilot briefly
in cargo planes
he had painted "vietcong killer" on his airplane
he went on to fly B-52'
s
he made friends with a vietnamese (south) pilot, went for a ride in an airstrike
said they found some"enemy" troopsin the open,
circled them, napalmed them
he thought it was hot shit

another time when i was dysfunctional in grad school
talked to a student who said he was a mechanic on F-4's
and he went on a joy ride once in Nam
he said they napalmed some enemy soldiers
and was proud of it

brainwashed into the frame of reference
they were
without a clue

You might peruse Timmy O'Brien's "The Things They Carried." Rather intense non-fiction 'Nam prose-recollection (and smokes most beat or counterculture poesy into the sheiet-hole where it belongz). Carver, Ray also scribbled a few rather powerful pieces that touched on Nam.
