we call this the Golden Rule:
Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You

A maxim of philosophy and physics

This is not a rule really or a dictum or a command
it is the solution to a problem
The problem is that you get treated by the world exactly as you treat the world.
It's a principle of physics
Action-Reaction
some call it karma
or reap what you sow

If I sow a seed of inspiration, I will be inspired.
If I am angry at the world, I can choose any reason to be angry.
If I am bitter, I will taste bitterness.
If I am ignored, it's because I ignore.
If I fight the world, it fights back.
If I work with the world, it works with me.

But Jesus and Newton said all of this
call it truth or revelation or simple observation

I gave a man a job but he
decided to steal from me
rather than earn his pay.

I gave away my days, my talents,
my energy, my enthusiasm and yet,
i will never forget that I was labeled self-serving,
self-involved.

Is that the way karma solves
an equation?

I gave my input, my support, my devotion,
my community spirit, my uplifting outpours,
yet was kicked out the door in the rain,
told I was hard to maintain.

I gave my hopes, my home,
my generous spirit, my living love,
the metronome beat of a consistent reverie,
yet still was left eating dinner without the
pleasure of company.

Memories of being beaten
and raped have never faded.
Perhaps I've become jaded.

I support the "Do Unto Others" rule.
I've been done unto so many times,
I'll take you to school.

These days, when I think of karma
I think of my future resurrection or
reincarnation or whatever the hell
the dharma is.

If it's all comin' back to me,
I'll get mine then.
Serve it to me with a double
sloe gin fizz.

Reap me, rape me,
deliver me from evil and jest.
I'm a do-unto-others test.
I done failed.
Sow what?

I read somewhere that it goes
"Do not unto others as..."
same thing I guess.

It is all so complex, and yet it isn't.

"Jesus and Newton".... a great pairing, an earth dream team of sorts, action/reaction...

Simple observation goes a long way.

simple observation
the observer's point of view
makes all the difference

it is all so complex
a wonder man and woman
ever get together

jesus and newton
moses and mono theism
