Asleep/Awake

Asleep I lie,
but still awake.
Headphones on my ears,
screens over my eyes,
surrounding me with,
a cold static snow.
In this state,
dreams are forbidden,
for if I dreamed,
I would dream of,
life without wires,
life without static,
life outside of prison.
Awake I lie,
but still asleep.
Shackles on my wrists,
a gag in my mouth,
chaining me to,
a cold steel chair.
In this state,
life is forbidden,
for if I lived,
I would live a life,
with out pain,
with out chains,
life outside of prison.
but still awake.
Headphones on my ears,
screens over my eyes,
surrounding me with,
a cold static snow.
In this state,
dreams are forbidden,
for if I dreamed,
I would dream of,
life without wires,
life without static,
life outside of prison.
Awake I lie,
but still asleep.
Shackles on my wrists,
a gag in my mouth,
chaining me to,
a cold steel chair.
In this state,
life is forbidden,
for if I lived,
I would live a life,
with out pain,
with out chains,
life outside of prison.
