I got candy-corn apologies
stuck to the inside of my ears,
no fear there, each word a lie kernel,
each putridly tandem story
attempts to stick it to me, make me
a believer, but this receiver's off and
I scoff only to find out all it takes is
a smile and a promise.

I'm a zero-dollar-an-hour fricking cleaning lady
trying to erase the mess but the slick-smiled
muthafuckan thief even got the prosecutor on
his side.

I want to waterboard him, dunk his head so far
beneath the polluted water that he can't steal
my breath any more.

Skin's crawlin now. I'm in ecdysis.
I periodically shed off the cuticle of my outer skin,
thick like leather, mirroring the snake so I can
bite back quicker than I'm bit
but I got candy in my reptile teeth
filed down like a misjudged mother-in-law.

I put up a fence then delete my own posts.
Slats can't hang like that.
There are no barriers.
In come the apologetics
at half the cost of their worth,
accepted, let free, these damn
escape-artist lies.

Why do I want to track them down
and kill them?
Sticky candy-corn lies.
Sticky like truths you want to believe.

the worse thing to me about impotent rage is that it can turn inward.

I wonder how many suicides are really revenge killings.

I wonder about those things too

this poem was just an improv using poem titles other people wrote to make a new poem... a challenge on an another board

i don't have any clue what it means except that the candy corn truths and deceits are stuck between my teeth

maybe one day i'll be able to discern the differences and spit the bulltshit out and only swallow the digestable

unfortunately, it's not always easy to make such decisions
