these are the moments of purity, of laughter, even in hardship there is the sweetness of harmony. i remember when I was younger I thought I had to achieve, to win, to accomplish feats that would dazzle the chosen few where I went to share that which I had been given so freely; and I thought that somehow it was mine. i did not know that this was the feast for humanity, as the wisdom of the present is so inclined to produce a sense of community, a precious place where each of us can flourish.
I never could really follow the rules. I watched as elders ate and slept and wonder at the wisdon that inhabits their bodies and minds, like whispers thier bodies speak secrets of the past.i liked the dog I had as a child that used to go to the library at UCLA and they would call us at home and say"your dog is here again"
It must have been an agreement from another life, to get me interested in wisdom, So I rode my pink bike up thru the sculpture garden and to the library where Chip was waiting patiently, I wonder what all those students thought when I came to get the dog, 9 years old and independent of adults. That bike was my first experience with any kind of freedom at all. those litle pink ribbons flying in the wind, and the basket on the front with the fake pink flowers, ah how that feeling caressed me, touched me in places where no one will ever go unless I invite them.sweet flowers sprung up, seasons came and went, and I looked for new freedoms... one of the places I looked was right here, I sit in your laps and touch your hair, thinking about life and how I have been so loved.
