My mother dear
is mad at me,
we had a row,
now she ain't
speakin ta me,
oh happy mother's day,
to me,
Oh happy mother's day,
to me.

Oedipus wrecks go nothing on me
I killed my mother
married my father

A boy's best friend
not her favorite son
just her baby boy

I love my mother
I only tried to kill her
once.

God rest your soul
my Rose of San Anotne

and
God bless Ruth Bader Ginsburg

querías un mayo francés
(las dos lo hicimos bien)
de algún modo

*

you wanted a french may
(we both do it that good)
somehow

*

la comida condimentada
el vino rojo, el lápiz de labios rojo
las piernas cansadas
los helado de limón
los caramelos de dulce de leche
la pastafrola
la lentitud al tomar mate
los tangos, el silencio
la salsa interminable
el gato blanco, el perro blanco
los pollos
las violetas, los azahares, las rosas
las naranjas en junio
las palabras dulces
las historias fantásticas y terroríficas
las palabras desconocidas
los guiños
los cajones olvidados
la alegría visible
el dolor visible
tiempo
para el misterio
en mí

*

the spicy food
the red wine, the red lipstick
the tired legs
the lemon icecreams
the sweet milk sweets
the quince jam cake
the slowness of drinking mate
the tangos, the silence
the neverending sauce
the white cat, the white dog
the chickens
the violets, the azahares, the roses
the june oranges
the sweet words
the fantastic and terrific stories
the unknown words
the winks
the forgotten boxes
the visible joy
the visible pain
time
for the mistery
in me.

El peso de su cabeza
gravita en sus manos
peligrosamente
(y quizás
en forma graciosa)
decide mirar
otros dorados

*

quién
soy yo
(con o sin signos)
para hablar
sobre la futilidad
(o no)
de su tarea
ella luce confortable
en la fluidez del tiempo
una estrella errática
y un pequeño pájaro
sus únicos testigos

(a sundae a friend gave to me last week
and I ate yesterday  )
