Dissonance, the only masterpiece.
Trot out your theories of coherence,
or despise their unintelligible reality.
But dissonance cannot depart.
It is here with us, large earth,
despite the view.
In Burma lives the tenth largest army.
Can't figure how to live together in Burma,
how to patrol, how to figure human dignity and love.
The tenth largest army is pretty common these days.
Dissonance is the next hill of any proper warrior,
despite the view.

Dissonance is a color
must be on the palette
music, like any art, depends on tension
the tension between rhythm and tone
the tension between dissonance and consonance
the tension between invention or confusion and resolve
dissonance is pain
(some people like pain)
and consonance is pleasure or release
the magic is combining them in just the right way
