Samba Dance

Post by goldenmyst » June 9th, 2008, 10:49 pm

Whirling madly
In deep delirium
With body unfurled
To the ecstasy of night
Samba rhythms pulsing
Like a taboo dream
Where stars collide
In fiery ecstasy

succinct and descriptive...the conservation of words helps zero in on the message....."the body unfurled"...YES !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

*Sparkle on the Monkey Train*

I have a neighbor here somewhere up the road who, a couple times a week ,sometimes more, greets the day by firing off his shotgun. He fires it three times, and after every shot he shouts out Hello! after the third firing he goes Hello!Hello!Hello! three times. It must be a semiauto shotgun because the entire sequence goes like this: BLAM! HELLO! then silence for a few moments & BLAM! HELLO! then another few moments of silence then BLAM!BLAM!BLAM! HELLO!HELLO!HELLO!!!...one morning back at the beginning of May, right after that day's Ritual Shotgun Greeting, i heard another neighbor shout over "WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU,GEORGE? IF YOU DON'T CUT THAT SHIT OUT SOON I'M GONNA CALL THE COPS!"... the sound of that utterance was still vibrating on the air when BLAM! followed by "GOOD MORNIN' & FUCK YOU TOO,BOB, & THOSE STUPID LITTLE YAPYAP DOGS OF YOURS & YOUR ELECTRIC CAR & YOUR GRANMAMA...AIN'T IT A HELL OF A GRAND DAY,EH,BOB? BLAM!BLAM!BLAM!...i mention all this 'cause i got on here this morning and was checking out & admiring your poem here when BLAM! from up the road...i love it when something that someone writes goes just like a shotgun and your piece here is STAND UP & STRAIGHT ON & BLAM! GOOD MORNING, JOHN! & AIN'T IT A HELL OF A GRAND DAY? BLAM!BLAM!BLAM! and a *Sparkle on the Monkey Train* to you John
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Saw, this was one of my shorter ones. Glad being concise worked for you. :)

The mingo, your reply was eloquent and lyrically soared. I love your story telling ability. You are not only talented but a delight to read.

Arcadia, I'd love to travel to Rio for carnival. However, I live an hour and a half from New Orleans. It's been a while since I did Mardi Gras. Thanks for reading.

one world in a whirled
delirium, deep as a furled
gurl curled up into her mamba
samba kahma sutra blitz, this
being the new taboo, the whoooooo
of a train whistle, the whooooooo of an
admittance slip, the whoooooo of a stargazed
praise of a goddamn amazing Xtasy, the free
being the let-me-outa-here-PLEASE plea, the
collision of stars not nearly as far as the fricking
goddamn fire within, and YOU, standing outside of
YOU, standing outside of a BODY unfurled, whirled
with da worldwind batta batta batta beeeeeeetbleep
rhythm of a tailspin comet, kama kama kama sutra
vomit it out, in a samba two-step ... DIG?
like baby where'd ya get those unfurled ecstatic
taboo dreams, babe? i mean where? yanno?

let's get cookin
