Candlelight steals your beauty from the Sun

Candlelight steals your beauty from the Sun
my muse lies at the foot of the bed
her hair spills over the covers
that have laid so quiet while i write
eyes awake to the look that looks back
eye like what eye sees :
the reflection of desire
we succumb to nature
my lust her love
her lust my love
this dichotomy of lobotomy
severs need from want explodes!
direction purely horizontal
this stunned visual man
weakens to seduction
and life becomes
goooooood

"Candlelight steals your beauty from the sun".
"Steals" is such a harsh word.

nazzer:
"Steals" is such a harsh word.
"borrow" somehow doesn't do it for me.

christ! you almost seduced me with this one, MT.
the first verse here was my favourite part:
my muse lies at the foot of the bed
her hair spills over the covers
that have laid so quiet while i write
it paints a lovely morning image.

very vivid and heart tugging, cec
have you ever seen Barry Lyndon? Kubric film.
Visually it's like no other movie. Kubric designed a new camera to shoot it. It uses no artificial light. He shoots scenes in moonlight and by candlelight. It's enchanting. See it on a big screen.

thx,
bennie... glad you liked the first verse. that means a lot to me.
eLRod... writing this piece took a lot out of me
syllable by syllable, word by word it felt as if
my entire being was being reconstructed on paper
as my soul began to dim and the castle no longer
cast it's shadow of evening gloom upon my heart
but in the end.. the end was not the end but
a new and fresh beginning into the seduction
of yet another moment brought to me by love...
btw: no, i have not seen barry lyndon. i recall the name but
that's about it. as to seeing it on the big screen, well that
will be an impossibility unless i can rent the original acetate
16mm film and show it at my 1800 sq ft personal movie theater.

it wasn't shot in 16mm
it was shot in 140mm
twice as wide as cinemascope
that was Kubric's innovation
but at least get the DVD
the story is a little slow, but the photography is amazing

beautifully executed (the poem.) i saw barry lyndon when it came out - it was visually stunning. i'd like to see it again.

eLRod : "the story is a little slow, but the photography is amazing"
i like great cinematography. it covers up bad plots quite well.
constantino: "beautifully executed (the poem.)"
thx for adding (the poem), amigo. at first read i wasn't certain whether you were speaking about Barry Lyndon or Candlelight steals your beauty from the Sun. I appreciate that.

I love these two lines...
my lust her love
her lust my love
Nice!
