Gothic Revival

Genuflecting monks design paisley vestments celebrating Gothic revivals of ancient mysteries in the dark night of the soul when silent prayers are sung in polyphonic peace echoing in Chapels measureless to man whose flying buttresses arch into distant skies priests wailing original sin in concupiscent chardonnays sunk deep in chalices of Eucharistic ecstasy their Cherubic faces blushed like grapes of wrath a subtle glint of heavenly host blessings consecrated with vintage miracles.

It's a good thing you have that flower growing out of your armpit - I had to look up "genuflecting" right off the bat - this is my school -good to hear from you, John, I took one of your flying buttresses for a spin.
As I rounded a curve and entered the flats another flying buttress pulled up alongside - a redhead was driving, she had a beagle on her lap - as she pulled away the beagle smiled at me, he had a yellow flower in his teeth...>>>>>>>

Westie, drunk deep in delirium I kiss thy hand. ;)

Mingo, thank you for the flowering thought. It blooms in my mind. :)

Saw, glad you caught that satirical reference. I haven't seen a good old fashioned miracle in all my days. Those oldies were so much more fantastical.

that's one hell of a line you put together. i think the continuous stream makes it more effective and original. normally, one would expect a conventional treatment when in the christian realm, but this is not religious poetry as such.

john! you keep surprising me today 8) i love writing in this style but i've never seen you write like this before. and it's a beautiful piece from the theme flowing like wine through it to the flare of the words inside the robes punctuated by the absence of unnecessary marks. love it!

Constantine you're perceptive. This isn't conventional religious poetry but rather satire. Thanks for such awesome comments. :)

Mindbum, I liked the stream of consciousness without punctuation. Thanks for reading!

SmileGRL, you do so have a way with words. Your comments are like drops on honey on my eager tongue. They are sweet with your precious thoughts. I am always your yellow star. ;)

mtmynd, Amen to you brother! Mucho Gracias. :)

Westcoast, I look awesome in a frock. hehe ;)

John I read this three times before I could see it
I saw incense hanging in the air
I heard a gregorian chant
the chant is what tied the knot for me

A mighty testament, a sermon on the dismount, certainly in a language deemed undecipherable by the clergy..however we the poets gather round this in total understanding, and prayer.
amen.
Powerful and right on
