dream over troubled waters, a

Post by mtmynd » July 17th, 2008, 1:25 pm

it's the small things in life
things that you say and do
these are the things that count

your thank you’s, your fuck you’s
your helpfulness, your disconcern
your generosity, your stinginess
your compliments, your put-downs

these little things
just keep gettin bigger
but not really better
they just keep sweepin
the angels off their feet

these are the things
that lash out: overwhelming
hurricane force blowing
minds
ideas
scraps of memories
clear across the face
of shocked humanity

knees quaking
marimba magic
voodoo hoodoos
and the chalice of gold
firin' up the tepa tu

(oh dear, was it something
i smoked that de lighted you
and made an ash outta me?)

spitfire jettisoned madly
into rainbows colored with
crayon hands dipped in oils
stolen from marilyn man rows
lined up fertilized and harvested
in sweet mandrew time slipping
thru crystal horror glasses
perched lightly on branches of
eucalyptus from down under

over and under
round about
ain't no doubt
this is rock
and rolls get stale

(birdfood....)

I'm guessing the small things do indeed add up.
But then, I'm guessing the bigger things do too...

"marilyn man rows"??

You're outta control, Cec!

cecil, we have a saying in afrikaans..." die sterkste gif kom in die kleinste botteltjies", translated "the most potent poison comes in the smallest bottles." it's funny how one little line can sometimes punch your wind out. & in the same breath how sometimes it's the simplest things that brighten your day.

great poe, my friend. & your "crayon hands dipped in oils stolen from marilyn man rows" paint brilliant (!) pictures in my mind.
