listenin to Marvin Gaye and inspired by jrl who played marvin's song as if he was improvising the words on the spot

These tears started
and they keep on coming -
what's goin on?

What's still going on?
Are we outa our minds, people?
While we shine our white-bleached teeth
and polish our lacquered nails
and compare cloth
and car
and CD
the world is trying to make a livin

While we joke
and buy the latest high sucrose high
dance the latest form
and daze to the trendy sounds
the world's tryin to keep on turnin
a steady beat
not askin much
just a little consciousness, people

what's goin on?
We can turn our magazine page
flick the radio station
till we hear the smokey sleep song blues
but while we're hypnotized with hype
the world is tryin to sail a little smoother
feed a few more children
nurture a few more plants
support a few more creatures

what's goin on, people?
care to tune in
or shall we waltz our lives away
in a stupour of dream?

what's goin on?

ah ah
whass goin ah ah on
baby whass goin on....

Well, it's comin on Christmas, and I'm grateful that I have a river out my window to skate away on. (one of Joni M's great ideas!).

I also am aware of the great interest in teeth whitening going on in our country, although it doesn't really interest me much. So far, my teeth are passable, but eventually, i'm going to have to get upper dentures I think. Presently, I have bigger fish to fry than perfect white teeth.
Like fangs for instance.
heh.

I'm also feeling hopeful. I just now got wind of a fine fellow needin a room to rent and interested in the one I've got for rent. Nothing certain, but I hear tell this person is a shaman type, well suited to share this big house with Stella and I. Whether it happens or not is still to be determined, but what i'm really liking is the hope I'm feeling from it.
A renter could really ease my burdens right now. I don't charge much, but i include a few chores, like choppin wood and fixing broken cupboard doors, etc. It could be swell!
I haven't felt much hope lately.
Hope suits me.
Hopeless does not.
Thass my current story, and i'm stickin to it...
