Potusa!

Post by mnaz » August 1st, 2008, 2:48 am

potusa, god of turnstiles.
he rises on winged cameras.
father of rhetoric, half god half man.
betrayed his son to hold onto power.
potusa, hail potusa like holy dawn.

There are almost as many gods
as there are people to invent them
but no god worth his salt
needs Secret Service protection

My namesake god is Janus
he is the god of beginnings and ends
he looks both forward and backwards
he is the sleek god of transition

When the Empire is at peace
the door is closed on the temple of Janus
when the Empire is at war it is open

(hint: Empires are always at war)

Potusa would be a great name for my internet marijuana company,

Pot USA...I will be happy to cut you in for your suggestion...

Pot USA.....the God of Reefer distribution in America and around the world...it's catchy....

saw, this is a fucking brilliant idea
all you need to do is get FedEx onboard
they could make a special little shipping tube
no questions asked
Here's the business plan:
Rent a storefront in a mall just next to one of those pot vending machines that they are using in California.
Get a company medical marijuana card.
When somebody makes an order on the net, an office person saunters out to the whacky tobaccy machine and drops the bag in the FedEx tube and sends it to the customer. Simple.

Better than what I was thinking. Sorry, Potusa should have been all-caps, POTUSA, President of the USA, half god half man. Watch him save billions with his rhetoric...

This was going to be a much longer epic poem, referencing pagan war goddesses and hanging chads, but it's probably just as well.

They have pot vending machines in California? No way...

Buy Mexican.

Keep the cartels filthy rich, deadly and powerful.
"CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (Reuters) - Suspected drug hitmen killed six people in Ciudad Juarez in northern Mexico on Tuesday, the latest in a killing spree that has left 41 people dead in the city since the start of the weekend, police said.

"It was the fourth day in a new wave of gruesome shootings in the city bordering El Paso, Texas, that saw gunmen kill 17 people on Sunday alone.

"Tuesday's murders take the death toll to over 500 people in Ciudad Juarez since the start of the year, making it the most deadly city in Mexico's drug war, despite a large deployment of well-armed troops and federal police."

cec, I don't think this is a hijack at all
it follows the subject

I'm amazed at the level of violence there (and partially not)
The border in El Paso/Juarez is one of the places where the rubber meets the road in this war that they call a drug war but is really a class and race and economic war.

I doubt if these wars are focused on reefer though. Probably the harder stuff. More money there.

LR : "I doubt if these wars are focused on reefer though. Probably the harder stuff. More money there."

it's the whole ball of drugs: pot, coke, heroin, meth and anything else that will make a profit. if bubble gum became high in demand, there'd be two cartels or more fighting over whose the baddest. the cartel wars is the old top-of-the-heap struggle - the biggest, baddest, meanest, most violent and most powerful dueling it out to be 'numero uno en las calles' (number one on the streets), even if it's for a month. human life? fagettaboutit. that's just another barrier to be overcome.

...As long as profit is king, that shall be the inevitable result. Halliburton and Blackwater function like cartels too, except they're backed up by tax dollars and righteous rhetoric.

Dino: it should be ready pretty soon..

Maybe I'll just add a stanza at a time.. I intended to write something much more tentacled and complete, but I fell asleep. No, really.

Hail POTUSA like the holy dawn.
Angels take flight from his utterance.
Enemies tremble beneath his visions.
He washes the armor of those about to die.
He changes battles with magic, moves the tide.

It's all wine to estimated prophets.
But it's not all about impending doom...
It'll be about prestidigitation and theatrics too,
and framing things, yes framing things!
by the time I get done writing this...

hail POTUSA!
he calls the final prophets
forges god's will with his armies
sends down fire from predators
in his scorched holy lands
