leaning back on a filtered coffee - poem by sweetwater

leaning back on a filtered coffee
talking trails travails and travels of time
sitting across continent and sea
free subjects of a discourse in association
time the dance of everything round and obscure
silence in the alluvial cast iron flower
sculptures of breath and the wind
clouds in the daylight frame
markings footprints and artifacts
speaking from a paleolithic fireplace
hiding in the rocks as caves
birds the post modern remnants
of dinosaurs and bees
lupins in the garden of hats
on the floorpost of poets
falling from their chairs
in the brainwashed morning
in a gallery of chert hammers
gemstones in a soapstone carving
along beaches and shores
the tombolo isthmus island
and peninsula
where all the quarried jewels
from cambrian isolation
found their way into
the archives and wallets
greed conceit and organizational arrogance
bickering on the decidedly inane
in a pointless debate about the politicization
of mind control technology
as some massacre of civilization
