the fall of mankind

some words are just

some bells too loud

some falls are made
of leaves
of man

of pride that
has gone
before it

has gone deaf

life is a tree
shedding skin.

each man is a leaf

each new day
a continual autumn

man is an autumn
stirring trees
causing fall
blowing winds
provoking change

a blowing wind
caused a change:
a leaf blown long
fell over a young sprouting
sapling in the dirt.
the shade provided chance of growth

shade became shelter
sprout lost doubt
grew stout
stuck out snout
scouted about
dared to come out

in daring to come out,
to grow,
from sprout,
to sky, stretching,
the delicate bud becomes
a definite tree...

and thanks the sheltering leaf in passing

...of bells and trees and words that hurt i choose trees. they grow roots in words not meant to hurt & they continue to charm. most delicate sounds. if you just stop to listen to the leaves and the birds visiting the branches growing deep growing in eyes on you & if you stop to listen maybe you'll see a fairy hidden inside the wound trying to deep clean trying to kiss it better trying trying sitting crosslegged with ears that are big and soft. grow grow roots & grins & ears that won't wilt. because we are trees of the flowering kind...
