scab

we run. separately
but. every time i hit a milestone. or you hit one. i remember. i remember darkness in the room. i remember dolls & pretty dresses. i remember your clammy fingers. everywhere. shame is a planet far from here. and i am a fairy princess living there. i am not from this world. nor will i ever be. i fly. pie! pie! the king says, bake me a cherry pie with baby cherries. fresh & sweet. sing me a song. weep me a garden. only pink flowers grow there. snow white sheep nuzzle my cheek. i hug them deep. soft & safe. you will never reach me here. i nap under shady trees. i sing.
why?
why? does it sometimes feel like i'm picking a scab that's already healed. why does it bleed?
so you're walking down the aisle again
who cares

you in your cried garden far from here with nuzzling sheep at your cheek. fairy princess in her never world. a world where clammy hands will never be a world where dolls and pretty dresses are just dolls and pretty dresses... rolling baby cherries down the edges of fountains...
under a shady tree growing from the filigreed clouds, eating cheeses and singing.
no scabs bleed here.

there's that seeming innocence again, mj. but a hint of horror underneath the skin...
here's a picture of a cow with a smile to cheer you up (or just to make you smile whether you need cheering up or not). cows are a very important part of the cheese making process, you know. they use their big feet to mix up all the ingredients:

Definitely a hint of Sylvia Plath. Yet uniquely your creation. I love the kaleidoscope of images which dazzle and leave a deep emotional impression. You excel with poetry and images my friend. I bask in the light of your creations.

Plath?
I wished my mother had read Plath when I was still an innocent child,
Crazed Angels
I don't really know Plath's poetry that well, I am just interested in her relationship with her mother.
for some people poetry seems to be a blood sport
Thank you for picking SmileGRL
Sorry about the irrelevant ramble
Plath did not cross my mind when I read your poem.
Go figure

I don't think the language was similar to plath at all. I'm not massively familiar with plath though. I've read Arial or Ariel. She was a better poet than Parker but Parker was a better wit. The two of them should've collaborated on something. But then...maybe resume would have given Plath too many ideas. "hmm... all these options..."
What I liked about this was that there's a magical world created that acts as a... a shield? from the events that happened. but the fact that the wound, healed, still bleeds means one foot is in the real world and all too aware that some things just never fully heal...
I don't know! What do you want from me? Oi vey! That's what I read into this anyway.. me with my stupid little pointy head.

bennie...you paint me smiles & cows with red lips rolling cherries for a national sport and i love cheese but you already know that...and on the third reply...the personal planet as a magic wand conjuring bulletproof glass. & how right you are when you say that some things never fully heal...it's the nature of the beast.
LRod...hey, if we bring a smile to your face...
Perdida...you think right...'twas the child in me that wrote this one... thank you for the well meant compliment.
john...thank you for all that. i like leaving impressions in you...
sweetwater...indeed! that is the question.
stilltrucking...no sorries needed. i enjoy reading ramblings. blood sport...haha.
hester...i so enjoy your comments. thank you! and for all those beautiful things you said...
