Welcome to my drip tank,
where the floor is cold and beer is warm,
where wallboards warp and women are flat,
where the paint is fresh and chips are stale.

Welcome to my insipid lips,
where quatrains pale and the image fails,
where sextets are sterile and metaphor, puerile,
where the muse masturbates, verse equivocates.

Step into minor hell, the beige hole.
Let's write a long poem about sprawl,
about gushing, smog-ridden souls.
I can't wait to spill it all.

and 'beige hole' is great understatement
