Lotta lived in Dream City
if only in the burbs
her unzip code was easy
to remember

she imagined herself to be chased
like she imagined herself to be chaste
but that's life in Dream City

her nickname was Lotta Trouble
in her head she gave great head
didn't want to bust her bubble
but when it popped, it bled.

Lotta Noise, Lotta Booze
Lotta Fuckin Nerve
Lotta Lain Ya
I can't explain
her other aliases
Lotta Shakin' goin' on

Lotta dreams in Dream City
even in the burbs

guess you'd have to know the song

or maybe you're just kidding?

i can never tell in this media

I was in the Berthold Brecht show, "Three Penny Opera" years ago where the song "Mack the Knife" comes from, a song composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht.

Those ladies are all characters in the show.

Of course, in your hyperspace arena, which I thought you got rescued from but I guess not, all roles are open and many can play multiple characters which, I guess, is often the entire purpose of the internet.... to fuck with people's heads.

:D

that's what i surmised. though i've read a lot of brecht, strangely, i haven't read, or seen, threepenny opera. i like his sensibilities.

brecht's sensibilties. lrod's sensibilities are a matter of public record!

lrod has no sensibilities.

you haven't been paying attention.

[insert winkie face here]

I have to keep my audience in mind

their level of sensibility is more important than mine

if you are talking to kindergarteners

you have to speak to their sensibilities

thanks for the comments, you guys

I thought it was cute considering the time of night

Actually, this tune inspired me more than Mack the Knife

The killer

How many dead wives does he have who died under suspicious circumstances?

Last one was what 13?

Best line I have read on studio eight this week

i can't imagine that song inspiring this poem

care to explain how?

none of the lyrics have anything to do with what you wrote....

i see no connection whatsoever

just curious
