I like the way you whisper
that German gibberish
in my fallible ear, your hot
summer breath engulfing
that educated tongue.
Those quivering lips that make
faint contact with my lobe
make me realize
that I have never dreamed
this language
could ever be sexy,
stereotyped by morons
like Colonel Klink or freaked
out by Sir Lawrence Olivier,
the evil Nazi dentist
in the Marathon Man.
Today however, alien words
swim in my canals and I am
forced to reconsider
my high school German classes,
lying on my back
trying to make sense
of these erotic sounds,
for a flash focusing on
Frau Edelweiss slapping
her pointer on the blackboard...
then, snap, I'm back
with Mistress Johanna,
her black leather tone,
her foreign agent accentuation,
her smooth slinky body, carrying
this exclusive message to only me.
Syllabic raptors fly over the Elbe,
words as long and slow
as a Hamburg afternoon.

Entrancing rumination...you have a way with words...a way of observing that is refreshing, creative and flows naturally.
