I wanted to call you so badly
I paced the various floors,
the carpet, the linoleum,
the wood, I changed the chair
I was sitting in every
ten minutes or so, but I knew
your eyes had closed,
hopefully reluctantly, hours ago
but what if you were wide awake
thinkin' 'bout me, maybe we were
even thinkin' the exact same thoughts,
yea maybe, you have your hand
on the phone at this very instant
just like I do.....what a shame !
Two people who are undoubtedly
in love that can't even talk to each other
when they really want to,
shit....it must be an invisible force field,
what else could prevent two people
each wanting the same thing,
from communicating with each other ?
