But You Already Knew This

i'm not nearly as concerned
with how much I know
as I am with what can be learned
the undiscovered, the undiscerned
the maiden not yet ravished
yearns to reveal her mystery
what fun is learning what we know?
in turn teaching it to ourselves
while memories burn like tissues in a candle
we have issues with things we cannot handle
the stern revelations, the spurned advances
so we return to learning what we've learned

i'd rather learn how to paint
(not walls or ceilings or decks)
than to learn how to write code,
so what the heck,
the job won't pay much,
i'll live in a tent, perhaps,
but i ain't learnin' that code crap.
if there's one thing i've learned
throughout the years
it's to stick with what you know.
i'd rather not grow
if it means too much stress.
but you knew that already,
i guess.
....
enjoyed your poem lrod...

one of my high school band directors used to say:
'If you you don't see sharp then you will B flat"
he always laughed at his own joke
and the rest of the band would just look crazy at each other
because they all knew that a C# is a Db, not a Bb
and a B# is a C, you see?
