Dreary Diary

dear diary,

this day was just another day
no triumphs or disasters
no bankruptcies nor orgasms
just another day

the normal aches and pains
the usual palliatives
bodily processes and
a library of pesky memories

you know, just another day
where you watch the news
and shake your head
just go crazy once in a while

the paramedics are parked
in front of my house, jackals
waiting for my heart attack
just another day

"lit a cigarette on a parkin' meter
and walked on down the street.
It was a normal day."---Bob Dylan

I like the subtlety here LRod....the images of your normal day are perhaps not unfamiliar to you, but are also the rigors of a life that just sort of turned out this way, which I can relate to ...we learn to deal with our life's particularities so well, they become normal to us...
there is much depth here, enjoyed the ride.....steve

You take an ordinary day and make it into an engaging poem. I enjoyed this much.

I'd take one of those days right now. No triumphs or disasters. I've never been big on dramatic weather. Well, except for the odd monster heatwave I guess.

"Library of pesky memories"... Always.
