Again. By Heart.

Post by izeveryboyin » October 27th, 2008, 3:59 pm

I want to mean something more than a moment.
I want to be a new idea of freedom.
I want to be a materialization of every hope.
And every fear.
And every dream.
And every wretched, unspoken desire... I want to be...
MORE
Than a moment.
If you could write me in a sonnet what would be my opening line?
Would I sound like Shakespeare?
Kerouac?
Sanchez?
Would I sound like fuck words, and shit words, and rage against the machine words?
Or kiss words, wet words, noises while you sweat words?
Would you rhyme me, time me, rock, roll and bind me,
Rhythm, blues and find me
Awakened,
reborn.
But ultimately forlorn.
If you could cook me as an evening meal...
Would I taste like lobster, or steak fries.
Fresh starts, and good tries?
Would I be, could I be...
Filling?
Thrilling.
I want to be something more than a moment.
I want to be everything you thought you were,
Everything you hoped to be,
Everything your mother, and your father wished you'd become.
I want to do it.
Again.
By heart.
I want to be EVERYTHING.
And have it mean nothing...
Nothing more, than a moment.
A new idea of freedom.
A materialization of every hope.
And every fear.
And every dream.
And every wretched, unspoken desire... I want to be...
MORE
Than a moment.
sometimes I just like to breathe.

and indeed you are... you are

that moment and this moment

rolled into one and one moment more

you stand no different in your being

than that new... that old that to be

as you were and will always be

this moment and that never ends

I like the passion in this, the desire.....the poem flows with its rhymes, and raw intent, stripped down and cyclical in nature returning to the starting point just like the cycles of life....in some ways just the blink of an eye, but there are those long slow evenings sometimes with the right person, that you hope will never end.....nice write......steve

mtm... your words give my fire fuel. Thank you for flowing with me.

Steve... passion, and desire... are some of the more basic parts of human nature.. but they are so difficult to explain or articulate, and I appreciate that you felt it here in this piece. It gives me hope.

SGRL- I want to be the one who reads it and thinks "very cool". I am SO flattered.

LRod- Remember when I used to do this every day on litkicks? What has happened to the poetry, I wonder. Why has it been so scarce when before it was so prevalent.. and potent... and real. Thank you for enjoying, and acknowledging.

Dave... I cry out every day, drawing in deep breaths with my lungs and bellowing with passion.

perdida... I am glad to have reached you. And I hope that you will cry out with me some morning, instead of screaming inside. Don't wish you had written this... write something better. Because I bet you can.
