the rain undresses;
falls on the naked streets below.
each drop holds images:
stories reflected and contained in the air,
a fragment of breath, an angry word,
a train station farewell.
all these things tumble in droplets
until they land
with painterly precision
on the naked, open canvas
to make every surface shine
like a moonbeam contained.
