Learning to live alone

Learning to live alone

We’ll grow old together, my whisper
Her hug tightens with invincible strength
Wheel chair bound I’ll take care of you
Till your last breath
Her voice echoes my vows

We sit immersed in cricket chirping
Porch swing creaking
As our trajectory takes us deeper into love
Each mounting sigh drawing the knot
Into taut intimacy
Her shadowy visage gazing deep
Like hawk eyes
Following the movement of my face

Her words rolling like lullabies
Treasures saved like heirlooms
Curios collecting like precious jewels
Deep in the bedroom of my mind
Sweet smiles lost in the roads of our travels
Forgotten highways where our bliss bloomed
Like wildflowers in the trails of time
Remembrance a bittersweet tea
Sipped in solitude

on a personal note
Just when I thought I had learned to live alone
I got a refresher course.

Saw, yes sad. I appreciate your comment. :)

Stilltrucking, that's a very cogent comment. I'm going through a refresher course as I write. As Bob Dylan put it "Behind every beautiful thing, there's been some kind of pain." ;)

Love calls for a fearless heart

But I have been a coward.

SmileGRL, as Bob Dylan said,"It's alright Ma. It's life and life only." Thank you for your understanding reply my friend. ;)
