I hate that color purple

I'm old.
And I hate
that color
purple.
Stupid red
hat crap.
There's gotta
be more
for me
than that.

I'm all flab,
yeah so what.
Tight clothes just
stifle my gut.
Hey, but I can
still make you laugh.
(Low necklines
are for
oversexed giraffes.)

My looks have
all but gone.
My youth
keeps living on.
I still crave
making the scene.
Aging
is terribly mean.

Damn princes
passed me by.
Now it's just
me and my.
I'm stuck
in a
senioricating hex.
Waiting for
whatever
is next.

I'm just an old
young girl
still hopin somethin
will rock my world,
special menus
for me
so they say?
Hell with that
and no
fucking way!

You rock me hester, wish I was twenty years younger.

But I will keep on keeping on anyway

still a hopeless romantic

Seems like just the other day I was twenty two.

I don't have enough guts to touch this with a comment, hest
I would just get in deep doo doo if I did
I'm too old and wise for that

I never had an issue with the red hat ladies clay must be a girl thing. I remember hester's reaction to the post that woman from Florida made about the red hat ladies. I think she was a scrabble pal of DP's

I thought it was cool myself, like the Cyndi Lauper song

You know girls just want to have fun

But I am an old fucking fool

No wisdom here

Not about women anyway.

So I rush in

You are the real deal hester

I don't see anything phoney in you

Is that what you are saying about those red hats, phoney?

I liked the poem hester. That's all
I don't think I would buy a hat just to belong.
Well maybe one of those old quaker hats

I always liked the look of those.

I used to be a quaker jack
maybe I still am
"it is all about belonging
men to the left
women to the right"

judih from a long time ago, quote from memory
she was speaking about religion but even so.

sorry about the digression about quakers.

a.g.e., like a fucking wart on the nose, is something we either live with or fucking die like a sorry bastard that can't fucking stand another 'happy birthday to you' or you'll choke the fuccker that says it and yell at the top of your voice "fuck you and you goddamn greetings! i'm fucking old and i don't like it one bit! do YOU understand, asshole?" but you really don't mena it... you know you are really a great fucking person.. you've seen the joy on other's faces when you bring that wonderful, needed smile to their faces and i trigger a feeling of goodness in you that we all wish we had every fucking day... goodness. gawd that sounds so... good. you'll bathe in those memories and they'll wash away that crap trapped in you goodness pipes... just wait and see... because you know, Hes... you know... and i know with you. really. we all do. if we're honest. and you are. really. fuck 'em all... eh?

a wry look at acceleration of years and the conflict between beauty and brain that ensues.....i'm no spring chicken either, but I'm trying like hell to keep my mind young and fit as possible, some days are better than others....my motto is I'm not going down without a fight...
the one thing aging brings you, is the authority to write about it....
good stuff, hester...

You know hest I got a couple of teeth left and a forty eight inch chest that will require a brazeer any day now. I got a beard that looks like gabby hayes, and I used to be circumcised. I have no doubt men are more vain, because I look in the mirror in total suprise at the kid staring back at me.

thanks for the poem
good stuff
yes the authority and maturity and beauty of mind to write about it.
longevity has its blessings
if you have the courage
the forlorn rags of old age are not for sissies

_______________

another got dam ramble
my appologies

I deleted this bit below in the quote because I thought it was too personal

But on second thought I decided to put it back in case ?

In case of I don't know what theda

I don't know , I am just reluctant to delete anything any more.

here is the deleted bit.
You are beautiful to me Theda
a woman of sprit and courage
a hero to me
I wish I could polish your pots
just to hear you sing
but that has little to do with your poem
sorry about the ramle
I am waiting for Godot
maybe
