before you write another word
think about how the sound of it
will echo in the canyons of solitude -
that bare and lonely place between
the ears of antelope and wolverines
that sharpen their teeth on stones
interlaced with titanium white just
enough to inspire another piece
that will litter the landscape of hope
only if you screw it up like an ass

Now Cecil, if you put it that way,
I'll probably write too many thousands of them
that will echo in all of those terribly silent places
where only the wolverines might be a problem.
