Just another gutless anti-war poem (#231)

First thoughts,
AM, 12/27/08...
pretend it's a poem.
I ain't in much of a mood.
People still shoot rockets at each other.
Life, it must have misunderstood,
just got it wrong, that's all.
Man I ain't in the mood.
My flag, my hymns, my holidays,
my wisdom, my sanctuaries ironic,
all based on making war iconic.
Under a brutal hand of god,
that ceaseless redemption,
the war poems long past,
only the ones we won.
We're not winning.
I ain't in the mood, that's all.
Carry my banner, conquer my grammar.
Implant my words, implant my will.
Buy me a round, tell me I will.
Plant your damn flag on me.
Plant your rotting freedom.
I can't even see their eyes
anymore.
Man I ain't in the mood,
that's all.

Have you ever thought about writing an ant earthquake poem?

Anti- earthquake?
Now there's a thought. It's just mother earth trying to shake us off. Can't really blame her. Hell I'm trying to shake us off too-- such warmongering bastards with such beautiful souls..
Man I'm tired. I'm going back to bed.

Sorry about the smart ass reply.
I was thinking of something Vonnegut said when asked if he was writing an anti war novel.
He said he might as well be writing an anti glacier novel.
But we got the glaciers whipped so I figured I should change it to earth quakes.
such warmongering bastards with such beautiful souls..
Yes. I wish I could write like that. Maybe I am not trying hard enough.
I been tired since 1914.
I miss world war one. Such a beautiful war. So perfect.

Jack... To Hemingway it made perfect sense at the time. And later, not so much sense. And the photos never made much sense. The endeavor was one big waste, yet utterly necessary. It's always necessary, the waste. You can't judge hell by necessity; it's always necessary, isn't it?

nazz-man... good point. war is waste, but a necessary waste. just like shit, living things have got to leave waste.

Yes it does make perfect sense
All we have to do is study our Bibles
All necessary to hasten the return of Jesus Christ
pardon me for saying this here it is not related but
I hope Obama's Jesus Christ is not as patriotic as George W Bush's

I hope he's not as apocalyptic, at least,
though I still have my doubts.
People have tried to hasten the return of Christ,
ever since they murdered Jesus and called him Christ.
Right there on holy ground, can you imagine?
The end of the world has always been right around the corner.
True enough, but think of it that way and you might get complacent.
What if the end of the world could finally get its technology?
Wasn't that the biggest lesson at the end of World War Two?
Well, I thought it was at least.
If I hear one more proud glorification of the Second World War,
I'm going to lose it. Whatever your place in that abomination,
it is nothing to celebrate, to replay endlessly.
And for those who would distort that horrible history to justify their own corrupt, privatized, lucrative postmodern dynastic aggressions (eg, Cheney, et al), I have a very special middle finger method in mind. Please pardon my grammar.

I had my first doubts about Obama during the first debate. A simple yes no question was put to both candidates. "Is Iran a threat to the United States" The first word out of both of them was "Israel" I am hoping Obama meant that we should protect Israel because it is a valuable and strategic ally and not because it is the Holy Land.
At least Obama was for talking to Iran before we stared singing Beach Boy songs at them.
