[Lightning Rod]

the current Poet Laureate of the US, Kay Ryan
has determined that Lightning Rod has written
The World's Worst Poem

This poem is so bad that
one reading can do irreparable damage
especially to the unsuspecting or the weak of mind

it's so caustic and vile and full of bile
the images can make you go blind
to some it just doesn't make sense

so, to protect the frail and innocent
the poem has been placed in a locked and leaden box
and quarantined like the pox

they've pickled it in nitrogen just in case
even the armed guard has a blindfold on his face
you'll never see the World's Worst Poem

But I wrote it.

I heard the Pentagon was interested in it. Maybe this could be the big breakthrough!

(sorry.. something about this reminded me of that 'killing joke' sketch by those Monty Python genius-freaks.. haha)
