this is a piece from Oral Sets and postulations in a symphony
words of kept from me its debt
begging to the gods that be bliss not suffering
who knows he enjoys to end this literacy of poverty
how much is your signature worth
it's all I have to bring today
i see the sunnyside
of heaven, the bare trees
of winter in the sorrow ghosts
and anxiety
what if i like stars exploding inside my skin
would you contain me climbing in?
foot prints through time guiding me like a pole star
the combining of an unfortunate love and far engaged in discussions
the coast was weeping
a tangible loneliness she dreams of love she dreams of you
to symbolize the overture and create a sign
like any machine it worked as long as they weighed the options
it worked this way & that
a slender touch to fly me a pink balloon
and play music

sweetwater...this is me trying to understand what you are doing here (and elsewhere)...are you just observing & reconstructing the copy & paste kind of way...or are you trying to get noticed...or are you taunting/teasing?
just asking...because i'm not sure if i should be touched or offended...& i'm sure i'm not the only one wondering about this.
& then there is the issue of copyright, if you are going to be copying so blatantly and word for word, and not bother to mention the original writer...not asking for fame or fortune here...just where is the line? yes, i have borrowed from others too...although i try to make the words/phrases my own and then i usually write it in reply to the original post as a way of saying "you've inspired me to answer in kind".
respect is something that needs to be earned. it is not something that can be forced on others. & clear and friendly communication is also a worthwhile step to getting it in return.
peace

sweetwater -
What SmileGRL is saying is absolutely correct. If you are copying and pasting lines other people wrote without their permission and without giving them credit, then it's just not cool .....and not allowed... here or anywhere else. Maybe you're trying to do a "cut up"? If that's the case, use the lines to inspire your own lines, ok? You can't just paste lines together which other people wrote. Please stop doing that, OK?

I think it's perfectly ok to do cutups but if the stuff you are cutting up isn't yours, you need to credit the sources. ($25 is a bargain)

sweetwater - you can't just ignore what's been said to you. Please acknowledge that you won't copy and paste other people's lines without their permission and without giving credit to them. Thank you.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Sued for what?
Plaigiarism is not accepted on any internet website. I'm not saying anything new.
"Infinite Tide" is our book. I don't know what you mean by using it in any "commercial sense." Are you saying that you think it's OK to take people's words and post them on the internet as your own without permission and without giving credit as long as you're not selling the words?
That's just not the case. It's not alright.
Please ask permission before using exact phrasing of words from other people and also give them credit if they say yes, it's OK. Otherwise, you need to stop doing it. Thanks.

Oh and if you're saying that I used YOUR words or images in the book "Infinite Tide" without your permission, you are entirely wrong. You submitted your material to the book project.

this is totally silly
nobody is going to sue anybody
not unless they are total fools or just troublemakers
my guess is hollow threats
somebody needs to grow up here

Exactly, yes. Threatening lawsuits is silly. And ridiculous.
But my request for sweetwater to stop using people's words without permission and without credit is not silly.

I'm honestly feeling a little bit uneasy with this situation 'cause I'm guessing that most likely you meant no harm, sweetwater. Even your name says "sweet" in it.
I guess I just thought it would have been good had you acknowledged SmileGRL's complaint and at least said to her that you meant no harm, but were creating a cut up. Then would have been nice if you told her you would ask in the future and also credit her.... That's all.
Sorry to keep on this topic. I guess I'm just hoping for better communication. You are a talented guy and your poetry is welcome here. Just would like to have better communication and for acknowledgment of the issue that was being addressed.
