Let's start a War

Let's start a war, why not?
Rekindle it, it's almost time.
We have an internal clock.

Let's start a war to end them all,
or at least pay the rent for awhile.
Why not? Everyone is doing it.
Do the war, do the war, do it.
Shake it, mic it, mix it, remix.
Let's do the war.

Climb the latest sacred heap.
I can hardly see past it.
I might write a poem.

Sure
lets do the war
But what's in it for me?

Job security
Money for college
Parades, medals, a flag drapped coffin

I just want to kill
And feel good about it.

let's start a war
not this new fangled
middle eastern shit
version of war, this
dumb-ass kinda war
where you look for
bogeymen with explosives
no we need us a good
old fashioned war,
the stockholders demand it
we need a real enemy to kill
not some amorphous
phantoms that send us
audio tapes to pis us off
we need a a whole country to attack
where everyone is our enemy
and people can go back to work making
tanks and battleships, good jobs
making deadly chemicals...
let's start a war before it's too late....

patience, your wish will be granted soon enough.
but let's not be hogs about it, each country should
show good faith and announce a civil war first, maybe
a racial war as an appetizer...I'm in ! !

Yes, the civil war and other oxymoronic brain tweakers.
As Exene put it, "Both sides are right, but both sides murder".

Let's start a war,

to pay the rent.
to pay for class.
to save the banks.
to test our tanks.
to save our stuff.
to keep us free.
to stim-u-late
the e-con-o-mee!...

the bitch about it is, it never had to be like this.

I think somebody must have had this conversation...

...centuries ago, and here we are today, just preserving

the tradition. And rest assured, no different world will be

realized for many generations to come. It's sad, and I no

longer wish to entertain the thought.

Maybe the original idea of war grew from boredom.

I write anti-war poems like shitting at this point, completely natural. And sometimes I get combative in my writing of anti-war poems, what a joke. And no one wants to read them anyway.

I too, can get into beatin' this horse till it
goes beyond the scope of a scope. I like
your work though, and have read flocks
of it already. And I know it sometimes helps
to blow steam. It was where my head was
going that I wanted to avoid...for a moment.
I'm near the top of the curve, mood wise, at
this moment. But I couldn't stop myself from
spending the two-cent piece. Peace
