we meet
in the electric dawn
of the declining year

bare-faced
bare-hearted
and nude

our branches naked
unsecured

roots shuddering
in frozen earth

and forest flow
inside our bark
warm like hope
dreams of birth

stark naked
in cold winter air
we shiver

as our branches
touch

A lot going on in so few words. The consciousness of all nature. The seasons, the cycles, death and rebirth. I became part of that cold, vivid scene. I felt the same deep shudder I always feel at that dying time of year, and life and warmth turned inside. Made me think and feel. Thanks.

"naked" and touching is how we are meant to be...

"our branches"...great visual. organic. one with nature.

"warm like hope/dreams of birth/stark naked"...this whole poem is magical and spiritual and touching deep inside of me.

cold...yes, it is winter here and i feel the cold shuddering/shivering through me.
