Sittin on the road here,
waitin for a poem to go by.
Got my hum out.
Got my vision on blur.
All primed to catch a line.
Nuthin happenin tho.
All things
stuck in usual,
just keep whizzin by me.
So loud,
can't drown em out.
Lord help me.

Lord help me
"I am a victim of society, and, an entertainer"........DW
sometimes i go months- and sometimes I go years with out writing anything, or anything i particularly like.
i like borrowing for inspiration. I'll take a line, or a song that i connect with but i'm not sure why and either use the lines that pull me or try to write a song with a similar message.
its funny how people try to say "what is this poem about, who is this song about" because for me my best poems- they are from multiple things and aren't about a single experience or person nessisarily.
I should carry paper and pen around with me the other day i heard something said and was like- i'm going to use that, but i didn't write it down and now look.
I'm dry too.
I also find, as far as my intimate poetry of late was inspired from getting some then moving and not having anything but those thoughts- and i think i'm out of that phase.
to me my poetry really does reflect the time/waves i'm in.
I like reading your last couple of poems because they seemed to work together you know.
maybe i'm a hit or miss poet because i'm so damn analytical.

Blah!
hester i can quite literally and figuratively relate to this poem of yours.
when we went on that roadtrip last year, i had a couple of moments of frustration like this...ready to write, but too much going on around me. i wrote this down on a piece of paper: "trying to write poetry in a car full of people is like trying to see far with your head stuck inside a cloud...too much noise." so yeah...
and then last week i had a bit of a dryspell with poetry and other creative things. & it's weird how we flutter around anxiously sometimes when all we need to do is sit still for a moment to "hear" what we have to say...i sat down yesterday and i wrote "wild flower"...it just came pouring out of me. my words was blocked by my not paying attention and as soon as i did, it came. and it didn't matter if it was an artwork or just the truth.
it is always a joy to read you
