I anoint you the, the modern day Grace Slick, though your poetry is better than her singing, ha....light as air.....
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

hey smile...grace slick was the lead singer for Jefferson Airplane, and the song I had in mind was a classic of theirs, White Rabbit....if you google the band and song name there are numerous recordings of them doing it...she was actually a fine singer...and your poem took me back a few years....about thirty.....hope you like it and see the connection..........

Hey Saw, you must be a youngin' yet, White Rabbit was written
somewhere between '65 and '66, and first performed in '66...
43 years ago...the band changed names to Jefferson Starship..
and then to Starship and was at a time the only rock band with
songs in the top ten charts each year for four decades in a row.

She was right here, picking flowers, with that cat of hers, and she disappeared. Fell down a rabbit-hole or some such.

But then I awoke and it was still a lovely spring day. It was just a silly dream.
Grand adventures underground -- next you'll be saying I was whisked off by the Prince of Darkness
to eat pomegrante seeds and rule as his Queen. No, I was just chasing my sweet kitty and got
swept up in some erudite hare's misfortunes. And that, I am certain, was merely based on too much
chocolate cake at the picnic. Thus I fell back, or rather, continued my usual bucolic life with kith
and kin, engaging in furors and trivialities -- until it was time to fall again.

SmileGRL, there is a gentle passion and urgency in your poetry which draw me to read you. I feel I come away with new way of seeing the world.
