Cultivatrix
(for my counselor and mentor)

She shapes my heart
As a master cultivatrix
My gnarled emotions held softly
In gentle clasp of her caring
Prunes ragged hurts
With meticulous shears
Taking cautious care
Around intimate wounds
Grafts new limbs
Coaxing healthy shoots
To sprout new leaves
Where denuded branches
Barren of feeling
Once felt the winter chill
Of fallen humanity
In the pit of loneliness
My leaves reach out again
Feeling a warm touch
Water of her compassion
Seeps deep into roots, resurrects life
Impregnates my emotions
Sowing seeds of solace

isn't bonsai the art of restrictive agriculture
stunting and pruning, making the subject appear as small as possible?
do you really want to be a potted plant?

You were right of course. Bonsai wasn't the image I needed.

...the focus here is on the caring, and sometimes pruning is part of that. i get that. you found a loving gardener in her. this is how we grow roots again, by finding a garden to grow in where there is sun and water and love.

SmileGRL, you understand me so well my friend. Finding the right garden for our type of plant is the key. Often we find them in unlikely places. Thank you so much for reading and understanding. ;)
