she was so far up DeNile
she was in Ethiopia
she thought she was Cleopatra
on her barge in Lake Victoria

she would try to convince you
that it was the Amazon and not DeNile
either way, she was way up the river

Cleopatra awoke every day a virgin
no matter the asp or brother
she had slept with the night before

She was the Queen of DeNile
but claimed it was the Amazon
and the asp was an anaconda

she wove the most eloquent excuses
lived behind her veils and wigs
her boat could float upstream
she owned DeNile, she was queen

there was a song in the eighties by a group called "Los Twists" here named "Cleopatra, la reina del Nilo". It´s kind of a non-sense song at first sight but I love it! And your poem reminded me to that!!!!!!
