just you wait and see

all the poetry has died
inside me
but i can't bury the bodies
not just yet
i'm waiting for the flesh
to decay into dust
that will lightly drape
the warm bones beneath
i'll build objects d'art
with the bones
and give them nicknames
"dodger" & "sweety"
two of a kind holding
each other up until
the resurrection comes
and poetry reincarnates
phantoms from long ago
newly rediscovered
one hundred year from now
and people will be amazed
... just you wait and see

it is said that
a poet is one who
joins together
words
this is not right
a poet is one who
is passably
fit together
by words
if he is lucky
if he's not
words
tear him
apart

words words words
arose from the thoughts
that kept our lives together
until the questions began
asking what it meant
what does it mean?
what does it mean?
what does it mean?
then meaning got lost
in the confusions that
followed on the heels
of the mind's perpetual
barking at the stranger

the poet wanders dazed
walks towards the northern gate
towards the opening
he knows nothing
he begins to write the book of all
he wakes now to write
the book of dawn

My words will likely be lost,
scattered to the nebulae.
Maybe if I carve them in some rock...
that might buy me a few millennia,
if placed right.
But then, some big ass asteroid X-17
may yet be lurking somewhere out there,
and may yet have something to say about it.
Words words words.
I hate the word 'word'.
There's gotta be a better word for word,
like maybe 'pa-la-bra'...
there we go... much more sexy...

I think you're right, mnaz... palabra does sound softer and more meaningful...
pa-la-bra...
la pa-la-bra... smooth. me gusta. beats 'wyrd' which has a flighty look but no change of sound.

Damn! I love this Cec!

...sometimes i wish my words were birds
nice poetry my friend. i don't think the poetry ever dies inside us. and somehow, i think, our poems do have wings.

we'd always have something to crow about!
