Hamsters

Hamsters are a symbol of fertility
when I was a youngster, I raised them
the females are en estrous every five days
I prefer the term 'in heat'
more sultry and romantic
when she is in heat, her tail stands up
the male smells it and jumps on
it takes about two seconds
after the act, if you don't remove the male
the female will often kill him and eat his brain
it's an Amazon thing I think
gestation takes sixteen days
she'll have about eight pups
and eats the unhealthy or weak ones
the picture of fertility
and the value of romance.
