stacks of rain

even in the carpets of raining music notes
the stacks of records revolve in endless loops
they are playing in memories still arriving
from from the moon in reflections that bounced
off of the royal jewels and bounced again on
shined shoes in the bad part of town
oh they played the devil's songs when the spit
shined bright on the mirror of the blades of grass
they spoke the gypsy crossroad tongue in the
little in between spaces there the cats passed
and the lovers talked in the thin twilight of
idols and sheets of silence whipping the razor
rays through the holes of smoke and black kiss
from the whirling shadow canes riding a time ripple
i'm listening to the static that signals the fuzz floors
up the great sweet slide elevator from hell to heaven
to the low melody that haunts the midnight talkers
through the empty passages left by the paradise
pursuers
we have found the sewers of flapping royal purple
in the grand plans of secret hotel meetings in forests
we have arrived at the golden dawns of holy dungeons
in the LSD and Coke laced air of Spanish cities
have seen the hallucinating parades in the fantastic fogs
they want dirty diamonds and gold from the heart of Africa
we are still standing on the side of the road like wild rags
taring in the wind of yesterdays that never fade tomorrow
still shining our eyes on the dark matter stars that blew in
uncountable eons ago, still looking toward that flash moment
in the other side of the cosmic show down glow glow away
