after sunset

honoured my words can be
a source for a thunderstorm
poetry is poetry
as they say

evening or night
where there hasn't been

again the sky
the sky became empty and
the sun beat down into
a strange contrast

heavy like a
painted arid desert

and after sunset the sky turned orange
then red and pink and vacant once again
as always the crickets sang

the monotonous harmonies of an
evening burned away
from the west a dark cloud
expanding and swelling
and getting darker

a thunderstorm is somewhere close by
scratching on my belly
and the sky is purple

The last three lines bring it all into perspective quite nicely.
