Give us this day our Daily Protest

I’d like to do a little number I wrote now,
entitled, “give us this day our daily protest.”
Thank you.
“The bombers didn’t follow recognized procedure.”
“Afghani locals estimate as many as a hundred-fifty killed.”
The Pentagon disagrees.
Back in 1942 or 53 or something,
when it became clear war was permanently profitable,
The War Department became our Department of Defense.
(Hereinafter referred to as D.O.D.)
I hear the D.O.D. is anti-terrorism.
(Hereinafter referred to as A.T.)
I hear the D.O.D. is retraining itself lately.
Here is a sample question on the latest test:
“Which of these things is low level terrorism?”
A. action against hate groups.
B. I.E.D’s
C. Protests.
The answer is of course, C.
Meanwhile I was reminded of a speech,
something made by Barack Obama in 2003.
He said: “I favor single-payer health care.”
“And the only way to get it is to gain both the White House and…”
Something. Fill in the blank. Waste your time.
“It’s not in our best interests.”
And the interests know best.
Oh, and the Oil Giants finally muscled new contracts today
with our brand-new puppet government in Baghdad.
I guess it was worth it after all.
God bless.
