Desert Dessert

Post by saw » July 5th, 2009, 8:03 pm

in red rock country
utah is a planet
a state of being

an altar
out on a limb
a desert sonata

a rugged vignette
nature's triumphant palette
ephemeral ink

the modus operandi
of a tapered brush dipped
in the bed of a creek

the coolness of shadow
the wetness of grains
of lucid sand

the skeletons of travelers
the sustenance of dreams
a delicate stoned arch

over shifting plates
the forks and knives
of towering cumulus imagination

place mats of inspiration
laid out for a bounty of awe
atop a tricked-out moabian table

"the wetness of grains of lucid sand"

this is the psychedelic truth
within a piece of beautiful truths

i may be mistaken but i think it's modus operandi - unless you're pulling a fast one. knowing you, that is always a possibility. i think the form works for you - it breaks up the images for easier contemplation and polyunsaturates the hemoglobin effectively.

"...an altar out on a limb....
Eloquent, powerful images in a mild mellow tone.
Total enjoyment.
