tips on drowning

on a sunny day as I stand on the edge
of a dock to watch the water's reflection
feeling trepidatious about writing advertisements
and jumping in ... appealing more to those who are
inclined to climb rocks

it's about co-operating and negotiating
the polarities of interest into a reflective
satire encapsulating the sublime

and the iron-woman-poetry-contest
and drowning

it's about cardamom in the seed
and chewing on the husks
while enjoying the sweet aromatic blend
of various beans
before you stop breathing

it's about flavour and canadian spelling
and the discussion of favourite recipes
and being in the centre of your being
as you take your last breath

and while I am mixing the ingredients
into a collage I am only occasionally
reminded of the sentences used while exploring
the nouns of trepidation

and dying as a metaphor
for unpredictable weather

I have read a lot of your work
I think I like this one the best of any so far.

thank you

poetry is like rock climbing in the rain for me
takes an intrepid soul.

the "I have read alot of your work" comment!

... what little you see is just 'the satire
of a forum' of pseudonyms and ridiculous names

I am always thrilled to read anyone who can see what I see.

Or know what I know.

Or feel what I feel

thank you

I thought the poem was brilliant
and dying as a metaphor
for unpredictable weather
just to pick a bit at random

mundane metaphors
I hope I never get too blase for them

you made it so visceral. 8)

yeah
it's good to know that satire is lost on all of us
and so rarely admired
so ingenuously expressed
so delightfully refuted
and so incredulously admired

it is all so brilliant

if it pleases you to think I don't get it

so be it

a small price to my vanity

for the pleasure of reading your poem

sincerely
