So they made Nora the piano playing cat
a star, put her in her own concert with
a conductor, and orchestra

you can't help but adore Nora, lovely gray
those sweet cat eyes of hers, but it's her pause
between keys, her paws if you pretty please
she waits for the moment and she plays

the musicians make the background swell
and Nora waits, for her magic cue, only she
knows, and she moves a paw onto a key
voila! cat and piano are one, those delicate
notes are all hers, and she purrs, and plays

secret sounds only she knows, it flows from
the fur of her, clear tones ring, and she loves
the keys with her whiskered face, and suddenly
she's all over the place, rubbing all around the sound

man that kitty can groove, and them little cat hands move
and the concerto rises and a little cat calypso rides the
silent breeze, shes dancing with ease on them ivories,
and there is an irony to her movements, she's a tease
ah, but the piano and cat are one, and when she is done

she has to run and catch a bus, no muss no fuss, just puss

"Cat and piano become one." Now there's something I'd never seen before. She digs those ivories. She feels it.

in ancient Egypt cats were considered sacred
now tell me, have we progressed?

i suppose we could consider the pathetic fallacy factor
if animals don't have souls, then are they just objects
to make do cute tricks?

how can anyone think that animals don't have soul
they certainly are psychic, at least that's my take
is a piano playing cat just picking up from a past life?

if so then i believe i was a cat in ancient Egypt.
