it hit the patio tent cover
landing about two feet away
on the wrought iron plant hanger
spunky little guy acting schizoid
cackling like I intruded on him
teakettle, teakettle, teakettle
cheery, cheery, cheery
proudly cocking his tail as to say
kiss off, you don’t bother me
then flying off to harass another
a rusty brown bird a lot like him
we call them, carolina wren

forgot to mention how much I liked this one.

"teakettle teakettle teakettle, cheery cheery cheery"..
I can picture the little guy shaking it off.
