Breaking Hallmark* Ice

Breaking Hallmark* Ice

Protective clear sleeve is a window
four textured lines are
bright white canvas
embracing to crop and frame with
paper too thick to cut unlike
the image that slices existence like
the unexpected knife of a soft page
to a fingertip

Riveted red iron dominates
an obnoxious specter growing
from frozen tentacles
formed by waves shocked in artic air
melting like candle wax down
a fire born cylinder as blue

Transparent clouds gestures down
hanging from the sky like wrinkled pants
a bit off center is the space where
reds rage and blues melancholy gather
center of attention is tined purple like a
grape snow cone sucked of
syrup lacking sweetness

Captive in slumber like a childrenÕs tale
waiting not for a prince but for
poison to drain in springs veins is
to drip into new liquid forms

*A conspicuous feature or characteristic.

Hello abstroint,

I really appreciated your use of language and imagery. The images you created where fresh and crisp and the language you used was deliberate and well-thought out.

Thank you for sharing. :)

Jamie.

Hi Jamie,

I wrote the poem months ago, after creating the picture below. It was the first time I intentionally started out focusing on exactly what I wanted to say with my work, and followed through all the way to the end. So, it was very good to hear from you. I really appreciate your commenting.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Cindy
