I wore braces from 18 to 22, put on by this man http://garfinkleortho.com/MeetOurTeam/R ... fault.aspx
His practice was in Oregon City then, and I spent many hours there laid out on a chair, not wanting to be where I was. Don't get me wrong, he was a great man, had a wonderful practice, outstanding and warm-hearted people every one of them. But you know, medical appointments are a drag at any age, and at that age there were much better things I could think of to be doing.
If I turned my head to the right, there was a poster Dr. Garfinkle had on the wall there that read "Don't just do something, said Buddha, sit there."
What has this got to do with anything? I don't know. I just hoped it might help.

This is a spectacular piece, fabulous to read, I mean, it does something fabulous to me, like a great painting does, only it's words.

truck... Hes'... thank you kindly for your words. i've wrapped them carefully with antique paper that is imprinted with designs of places and spaces one rarely sees and placed them in a quiet place so i can return to them when i seek a special comfort.

Cecil... I liked this very much! It holds much truth.

Editing suggestion - I was always taught that when you're referring to a person, you use "who" rather than "that." I do, though, ALL the time see "that" used as you've used it but for some reason, maybe because that early grammar lesson is embedded in my head since childhood, it seems it would sound better substituting "who" for "that" in every instance in this poem. Just an idea. See which sounds better to you.
